Respirator User Training
-
Respiratory protection is a key control measure to protect personnel from exposure to atmospheric hazards and airborne contaminants. Chemicals, microbes, both organic and synthetic non-microbial particles (i.e. wood or plastic dusts), and oxygen deficient environments require specific personal protective equipment when engineering controls are not possible or practical under the circumstances. It is critical that workers and employers understand the proper respirator type, use, and care required to maintain a safe environment.
-
You will gain knowledge of:
How to assess the hazards in your workplace that may require the use of respirators
Selecting the correct type, style, and filter media based on your requirements
Ensuring proper use of respirators, including testing through qualitative and quantitative means
Limitations, warnings signs, donning, doffing, cleaning, storage, inspection, and maintenance

-
If you are a worker whose job requires you to use a respirator then this course is for you. This course is also useful for Supervisors of personnel who require the use of respirators.
